DayNest

How DayNest works

DayNest is an iPhone photo journal for recording everyday moments with words, up to nine photos and a mood. Organize personal entries in collections, add tags and revisit dates in a timeline or calendar. Personal recording has no entry-count limit and uses your own iCloud account and available storage. The app is still being prepared for its App Store release.

  1. Prepare iCloudUse an iPhone running iOS 18 or later, sign in to iCloud and check that there is enough free storage. Keep an internet connection available.
  2. Record one real momentAdd a title, note, date and mood. Choose up to nine photos that belong to that moment instead of trying to document everything.
  3. Give the moment a homeSelect a collection and add useful tags, subjects or a written place name. Use a few consistent labels rather than a new spelling for every entry.
  4. Return and reviewFind an entry through the timeline, calendar or text search. JSON export preserves entry metadata, but original photos need their own safekeeping.

Personal recording is free with no entry-count limit. iCloud capacity, an internet connection and an iCloud sign-in are required.
